Vida-Flo Murfreesboro is just off Old Fort Parkway in Autumn Plaza, next to Polished Nails & Spa. Old Fort Parkway is one of the main roads through the city’s west side, and we serve Murfreesboro, Smyrna, La Vergne and southeast Nashville.
Old Fort Parkway and nearby Old Fort Park take their name from Fortress Rosecrans, the Union supply fort built here in 1863. At about 225 acres, it was the largest earthen fort built during the Civil War, and parts of its walls survive inside Stones River National Battlefield. The Battle of Stones River, fought from December 31, 1862, to January 2, 1863, was one of the war’s bloodiest, and the park’s Hazen Brigade Monument is believed to be the oldest intact Civil War memorial in the country.
Murfreesboro has always been at the center of things. It began as Cannonsburgh, served as Tennessee’s state capital from 1818 to 1826, and sits at the geographic center of the state. Today it is home to Middle Tennessee State University, so Blue Raiders game days, student move-in weeks and long days on the Stones River Greenway all bring guests to our chairs.
